Practice The Pause: Pause to Consider

Happy Day 1!

Take a moment to Pause and Consider the impact of a new beginning. As a leader, new beginnings do not always occur at the beginning of a new year. For teachers and students, it’s usually early fall. Sometimes, a random Monday will mark the start of a new project. New beginnings may also come in the midst of a crisis as you explore creative solutions.

“Pausing to consider” may include an assessment of resources and talent around you to determine their best value. You may be negotiating time demands or navigating competing priorities that may require balancing a budget. In the midst of a crisis, “pausing to consider” the full landscape beyond the immediate scenario may help you find a unique solution you never thought of! That figurative mental spark may set you in a new direction or perspective for what you are doing. Success is not always readily visible nor easy to attain.

“Pausing to consider” the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) to your goals can benefit your overall plan.

As 2024 is a new beginning- Pause to consider the possibilities, set goals and expectations, assess your resources, work strategically and watch your dreams become reality!
